Story of La Licorne

After almost complete destruction in 1590 and 1591 (war between the new king Henry IV and the leaguers) Lyons was reborn at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The inn of the “Cheval Blanc” opens its doors towards 1610 in the heart of the small city. A beautiful Louis XIII staircase still bears witness to this period. The notarial archives and the “terrier” (list of the owners of a place established for the establishment of the feudal fee) of 1678 make it possible to retrace the history of the place since the Ancien Régime.
